For a Bar Mitzvah, we like to sit down with the guest of honor and talk about what they love, so we can thread that through the entire event to make it theirs. Max Goldberg had an instant answer when we asked what he loved: sports.
The party took place at Hotel Van Zandt in Austin. We started the sports theme with the escort cards designed by our own Emily Young. The tables were named after Max’s favorite teams. Emily made the escort card design a play on trading cards with the team (aka table name) and the guest name.
Our centerpieces were ballpark peanuts mixed with custom baseballs (by Perfect Promos) mixed with votives.
At each place setting the guests were invited to participate in the Goldberg Challenge after dinner. Their table was their team. The Challenge was a series of sports challenges which the teams had to complete, and there were prizes for the fastest time. The guests had to putt, toss a football, toss a bean bag, shoot hoops, move a cookie from their forehead to mouth without using hands (very entertaining) and lastly climb a magnetic wall to capture a flag. The prizes were gift cards to Top Golf. Kids were doing the challenge over and over.
Then they danced until the end on the custom dance floor.
