50TH BIRTHDAY WEEKEND IN CABO

Debbie loves Cabo. Honestly, I don't trust anyone who doesn’t love Cabo. We started planning Debbie’s 50th with a FUNBOX SPICEBAR : TEQUILA inspired invitation.

Guests stayed in the beautiful JW Marriot Los Cabos property, so everyone met by the pool by day & reconvened for dinners by night. The weekend kicked off with dinner at one of Cabo’s newer properties, Acre Baja. It’s a hidden away secret that’s nestled in thick greenery & palm trees. Acre has a terrace that can fit up to 40 guests for a seated dinner with market lights already strung overhead, and the green leaves surrounding you kind of takes care of floral for you too.

The official birthday dinner was Saturday night at El Dorado Beach Club, overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset. Our table design featured Otomi embroidered runners and succulents down the center of the table, and place cards that we dip dyed in ocean blue. Guests were greeted with margaritas + palomas and passed ceviche + avocado taquitos. A churro bar with toppings got guests up from the table to dessert & dance.

Then late night, an ice cream cart was rolled out - but instead of ice cream inside, there were ice shot glasses for tequila shots. Guests would drink the shot then throw it at a bell hanging over the fireplace. Of course if you didn’t ring the bell, you had to try again. . . There may have been a few regrets the next day.
